SkillsDG Highlights Key Tools and Frameworks for Business Analysts at FOBA25
12 November 2025News Release
SkillsDG, a leader in business learning and development programs, recently showcased at the Festival of Business Analysis 2025 (FOBA25) a range of essential practical tools and frameworks designed to strengthen business analysis practice and drive measurable outcomes.
FOBA25 highlighted how the Business Analyst role is evolving to meet the demands of increasingly complex, technology-driven organisations. Key themes included the growing importance of human skills, adaptability, and systems thinking, alongside the effective use of AI as an amplifier, rather than a replacement, of human analysis.
Presenters Jenny Saunders and Shane Hastie highlighted methods to ensure that teams address problems, engage with stakeholders effectively, and deliver lasting change. Included in the presentations was a demonstration on how the Problem Statement Canvas enables teams to build clarity, collaboration, and shared understanding with stakeholders.
Two widely adopted models the TRUST Equation and ADKAR were introduced to attendees:
- The TRUST Equation – building stakeholder confidence through credibility, reliability, and intimacy while keeping the focus on stakeholder needs.
- The ADKAR Model – guiding lasting change through Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement.
A high-speed racing metaphor was used by SkillsDG Global Lead Agile – AI and Leadership Shane Hastie shared the importance of Business Analysis fundamentals, anchored in the BACCM framework, for maintaining direction in fast-moving initiatives.
He also discussed three practical tools for high-performing teams:
- Lean Initiative Canvas – summarises an initiative on a single page, including key problems, solutions, value statements, RAIDs, costs, and benefits.
- Persona Template – moves from assumptions to actionable insights by mapping stakeholder challenges and needs.
- Service Ecosystem Map – positions the customer at the centre, showing how solutions interact with the broader environment.
These methods are also explored in depth through SkillsDG’s industry-accredited training programs available via public course offerings or tailored team deliveries.
SkillsDG emphasised not only the application of practical tools, but also the development of analytical, human, and adaptive capabilities. By combining technical frameworks with trust-building, stakeholder engagement, and strategic insight, BAs are better equipped to guide organisations through change, complexity, and the ethical adoption of AI.
