Beyond Projects: What It Really Takes to Deliver Products
17 April 2026

Are you questioning whether traditional project delivery is still the best way to create value? While projects deliver outputs, product-oriented organisations continuously deliver outcomes.
Find out what actually changes within an organisation to make that shift possible.
Many organisations are exploring what it means to move to a product-oriented approach. However, the reality of making that shift is often more complex than expected.
Today, operating in a hybrid project and product environment is common, as organisations attempt to evolve delivery models while still working within existing governance, funding, and organisational structures - which can present challenges.
In this fireside conversation, Shane Hastie and Brian Osman will share what they are seeing across organisations navigating this transition. With experience across Australia, New Zealand, and internationally, they will explore what is driving the shift, the challenges commonly encountered, and what teams are learning.
Hear practitioner insights, real-world observations, and engage in discussions about what it really takes to move beyond project thinking.
Just beginning to explore product delivery or already experimenting with new ways of working - this session will provide the insight into what the shift really looks like.
Gain insights into:
- Why the shift from project to product delivery is occurring - the drivers such as evolving customer expectations, technology, and the need for continuous value delivery.
- What “product thinking” actually changes - how it affects funding, teams, governance, and how success is measured.
- Common challenges faced - the organisational, cultural, and structural barriers that often emerge during the transition.
- What we’re seeing in practice - real observations and patterns currently navigating this change.
- Where to start - ideas for leaders, teams, and delivery professionals on their journey of transition.
This session is ideal for:
- Heads of Product, Product Managers and Product Owners
- Delivery and Transformation Leaders
- Agile Coaches and Change Practitioners
- PMO and Portfolio Leaders
- Technology, Digital, and Engineering Leaders
- Anyone interested in how modern organisations are evolving their delivery models.
Whether your organisation is exploring the idea of product delivery or already experimenting with it, this session will help you understand what the shift really looks like in practice.
