The Negotiation Planner assists in the preparation for an upcoming negotiation using a systematic approach by guiding the negotiator through the essential preparation steps: defining objectives and background information, identifying key questions and information gaps to address, mapping out all potential trading variables controlled by each party, evaluating those variables in terms of their cost-value relationship, establishing optimistic/realistic/bottom-line settlement ranges for each variable, and planning the meeting approach including potential trades and "what if" scenarios.
